Service of Training and Work Insertion EINA

History

Eina started its activities in September 1992. At the beginning of the 90s the philosophy of the Supported Employment was introduced in Europe coming from The United States, as a way of work insertion of the (no) people with disabilities. As one of the pioneering entities in this area, the Association Sant Tomàs bet on this methodology as a way of work insertion parallel to the Special Work Centre through an experimental project of the Work Department of the “Generalitat de Catalunya” (the Catalan government). During all these years Eina has consolidated itself as a service, becoming a county reference point in the scope of training and insertion of the people with intellectual disabilities. In 2003 it obtained the quality certificate ISO 9001 in matters of training and work insertion.
